Mid-Michigan is home for us, so this is the part of the state we’ve had the most time to explore. From interactive museums and family-friendly zoos to beautiful gardens and hiking trails, there’s a surprising variety of things to do. You can hike among the sandstone ledges of Grand Ledge, explore Flint, Lansing, Midland and Saginaw, or spend a day in Frankenmuth enjoying its German heritage and Michigan’s largest indoor water park. These are the places we’ve visited for day trips, weekend adventures and family outings over the years—and some of our favorites are right here close to home.
